Ellie's Preschool did a butterfly habitat project around Easter. She was so fascinated by it that we ordered one ourselves to do at home. We are all obsessed with watching the caterpillars develop and then waiting for the the butterflies to hatch. Very cool! A few weeks ago they were ready to be released. Out of 10 caterpillars, we had 9 butterflies develop. According to the info we received with our order, the butterflies initially stay close to where they were released. Just last night I saw a painted lady butterfly on a rock and wondered if it was one of "ours"! :)
